The majority of our students stay in the Saint Petersburg State University Hotel "Kapitanskaya 3". The hotel is located on the shore of the Gulf of Finland in an ecologically clean part of the city, not far from "Primorskaya" metro station.

To get to the Smolny campus you may also use either metro (the nearest metro station to Smolny is "Chernyshevskaya" one) or bus 147 from Korablestroiteley street next to the Hotel and bus 129 from "Primorskaya". These buses will also take you to the city's central street - Nevsky prospect.

Each apartment in the Hotel consists of two or three bedrooms. Single occupancy (one person in a bedroom) is available October through May. There are many students in the Hotel May through October and therefore only double occupancy (two people in a bedroom) is available. There is an entrance hall, a kitchen with a refrigerator and an electric stove, a bathroom and a toilet, a TV-set and a telephone (Internet connection is available for an additional charge) in each apartment. Bedding is changed every ten days. Kitchen appliances and utensils are not provided, but can be bought in the supermarket next to the Hotel.

There is a cafe and a laundry room on the ground floor in the Hotel.

The University Hotel Administrator is on the ground floor in room 8 (office hours are from 8:30 am till 7:30 pm). Duty Administrator's office is open 24 hours a day. It is located in the entrance hall of the Hotel.

Safety and security receive particular attention at the Hotel. The entrance is allowed upon showing Hotel guest card only. The Hotel is secured day and night. Each student receives two keys: the first one is to the apartment, the second is to the bedroom. These keys are to be given to the duty administrator when leaving the Hotel. The Hotel is open twenty-four-hour, but your guests should leave it till 11 pm.

Students may also choose to live in a Russian family. All host family's apartments have a private room for a student with bed, desk and a wardrobe. Telephone and television are also available in each home. Inter-city and international calls are made only by using pre-paid calling cards. The host family provides a student with beddings and towels and change them regularly. Laundry of private clothes is usually done either at washhouses or in the host family for an additional pay. Families are chosen taking into account special requests of students (allergy, pets, children, vegetarianism etc.).

The Center offers a pick-up service on arrival. For this we ask a student to communicate us the arrival details (date, time and flight/train number) at least 6 days before the arrival. Our staff member will meet a student at the airport or railway station with a sign with the student's name on it and drive him/her to the Hotel or a host family.
